  • Board Chair, Vice-Chair, Budget Liaison, Audit Committee, Strategic Planning Committee Member, Facilities and Technology Committee Liaison, Board/Community representative for the presentation of the Ed-SPLOST Capital Improvement Initiative, and Board delegate to the Georgia School Board Association
  • Participated in more than 200 Board of Education meetings
  • Past President of the Georgia Education Coalition
  • 6th Congressional District appointee to the National School Board Association Federal Relations Network
  • Georgia School Board Association Strategic Planning Committee member, and member of its Government Operations Council

Major Capital Improvements

  • Walton High School - Replacement School (New Theater & Gym completion scheduled - Fall 2019)
  • Wheeler High School - New classrooms, gym, theater, commons
  • East Cobb Middle School - Replacement campus opened Aug. '09
  • Dickerson Middle School - Major classroom addition scheduled during Ed-SPLOST V
  • Dodgen Middle School - Major classroom addition scheduled during Ed-SPLOST V
  • Brumby Elementary School - replacement campus opened Aug. '09
  • Sope Creek Elementary School - PE Building Renovation during Ed-SPLOST IV, 12classroom addition, plus new kitchen HVAC
  • Teasley Elementary School - 20 classroom addition, plus new gymnasium

  • Balanced $1.2 Billion Operating Budget
  • The Cobb County School District is one of the largest school systems in the nation to be debt free
  • The district earned and maintained a AAA Credit Rating
  • No property millage rate increase since joining the board
